If you've ever unwrapped clay and noticed it was beautifully textured by its own bag, you'll know why I tried to reproduce it.
There was a scrap of clay left over from the day before, so I rolled it thin and pressed scrumpled cling-film into it with a rolling pin. This was so thin that even in multiple layers, it left barely an imprint. Bin-bags were much better, and I loved the texture so much that I folded and twisted that scrap of clay to see if I could make anything from it.
The form that emerged looked perfect for holding pens, and in any case I could practice glazing the texture, so I decided it was a keeper. What do you think?
