My dad plays sax. He's pretty awesome. I wanted to make him a mug for father's day, so I modelled this one on my own sax, trying out the thumb hook as a handle and designing it so that with the right thumb under it, the first three fingers rest naturally on the keys.
As the first one was one of my earliest pieces, it's beautifully crooked and wonky and fabulously hand-made. Perhaps a little too much so... so I made the second hoping to improve on the orignal. Plus, now I have two chances to get the glaze right... watch this space.
